Mongolia Strengthens Spiritual and Cultural Links with India in Ladakh Visit
At the invitation of the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, H.E. Ambassador Ganbold Dambajav visited Leh on April 30 - 4 May 4, 2026.
The visit was conducted within the framework of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Arkhangai Aimag of Mongolia and the Union Territory of Ladakh, concluded during the State Visit of the President of Mongolia to the Republic of India in October 2025. The Ambassador was accompanied by a delegation from the Arkhangai Aimag, led by Mr. Galsandorj Galsantseren, Advisor to the Governor.
During the visit, Ambassador Ganbold Dambajav held a meeting with Mr. Ashish Kundra, IAS, Chief Secretary, UT of Ladakh. The discussions focused on advancing the implementation of the MoU, including areas such as trade and commercial cooperation, promotion of tourism destinations, and the exchange of official delegations and cultural troupes.
The Ambassador attended the “Holy Relic Exposition of the Tathagata”. Ambassador Ganbold also participated in the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition titled “Guru Padmasambhava: Sacred Pilgrimage Sites in India”, where he delivered a keynote address as Chief Guest on the Spiritual Connectivity between Mongolia and India.
As part of the cultural program, artists from the Musical Drama Theater, Arkhangai Province, presented performances of traditional Mongolian folklore music and songs.
