President of Mongolia Declares National Day of Mourning

    President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa issued a Decree declaring January 24, 2025, as a National Day of Mourning.

    The State and people of Mongolia are inflicted an irreparable loss by the passing of Ochirbat Punsalmaa on January 17, 2025, aged 83, who was the First President of Mongolia, Chairman of the Presidium of the People’s Great Khural of the Mongolian People’s Republic, a recipient of the State Supreme Decoration of Mongolia, Order of Chinggis Khaan, a distinguished statesman, and a public figure.

    Following the Decree, the National Flag will be held at a 45-degree incline and lowered to two-thirds of the height of the flag pole throughout the country from 07 a.m. until midnight on January 24, 2025, reported the Office of the President of Mongolia.
